Dirty Lens is a pack of textures we have carefully created for use with fashion films, title and credit segments, and music videos. This product has been heavily inspired by the cinematography and artistic direction of the film The Neon Demon, where Natasha Brier created some very interesting atmospheres by using different textures to make the camera filters appear dirty or dusty.
We have created this tool so you can give your footage a unique atmosphere too. Our art director used our special collection of dirt and dust to create a large number of textures, then applied them to our filters and continued to experiment until achieving our true desire: results that are organic, raw, captivating, and powerful.
Finally, we have filmed and isolated 20 frame overlays , so that all you have to do is turn them loose on your footage, with no additional plugins required.
There are three versions of each overlay: neutral, cool, and warm, so that you can use them with any type of filming. You can also combine them, invert them, and get creative with them to achieve your own looks.
We’ve created this pack with special care, to make it as similar as possible to the use of real filters. Now you can save time and effort when filming, without having to get your own equipment dirty or rely upon an on set art director.
For the best results, we recommend using these for scenes that are back lit or side lit, but not front lit . We also recommend applying these frame overlays in a location opposite from the main light source. For example, if that light is shining from above towards the right, then ideally the frame overlay should be applied primarily in the lower left area of your composition.
In addition to the 60 frame overlays, this pack also includes 21 transitions and 8 light flares.
